A New Year's Thank You

On February 1, 2024, Old Iron Press will come to a close. I’m beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to build OIP with Drake and Alex in this place I love, with people who’ve inspired me and shared so much wisdom, kindness, and grace. I’m grateful to our families and friends for their support and love. Grateful to all who submitted work, and helped us build along the way. Grateful for the friendships made through this project.

We’re so thankful to all who supported, celebrated, and shared their time and energy with us. Thankful for those who created projects before us and alongside us–who guided us with their creativity, resilience, and courage. I’m especially grateful to be a witness to projects bubbling right now. I am stepping back for health reasons, but know that I’ll be watching with enormous love and celebrating your every step.

I started on this journey because I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone, experiment, ask more questions, and make more art with others. I wanted to learn skills and build something in this place, with others, while I could. I work at a slower pace, and am thankful for so much about these past two years and the decade before that one–the time it took to begin OIP. Thank you for welcoming me.

Being human in this world isn’t easy, and it’s been an honor and a privilege to see you and to share with you in this project, an honor to learn from you, to read your work, and to celebrate together.

In the coming days, we’re excited to share a few more offerings with you before we say our final goodbye. Until then, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I wish you all the very best, in this year and beyond.
